I’m a science writer, fact checker, and environmental microbiologist.

I am a proud alum of MIT (Microbiology Graduate Program Ph.D. '22, Graduate Program in Science Writing S.M. '15) and UC San Diego (Environmental Systems B.S. '14).

I was formerly on staff at Science News in Washington, D.C.; I’ve also written and/or fact checked stories for a variety of other publications, including MIT Technology Review, NOVA Next, and Knowable Magazine.​

I’m always looking for the next great story to read, write or fact check! In addition to microbes, I’m fascinated by genetics and evolution, human and environmental health, science policy–and, of course, science communication in all its forms.
