I’m a science writer, fact checker, and environmental microbiologist based in Northern California. ​

I was formerly on staff at Science News in Washington, D.C.; I’ve also written and/or fact checked stories for a variety of other publications, including MIT Technology Review, NOVA Next, and Knowable Magazine.

I am a proud alum of MIT (Graduate Program in Science Writing S.M. '15, Microbiology Graduate Program Ph.D. '22) and UC San Diego (Environmental Systems B.S. '14).

I’m always looking for the next great story to read, write or fact check! In addition to microbes, I’m fascinated by genetics and evolution, human and environmental health, science policy–and, of course, science communication in all its forms.
